Worship

At Journey Community Church, we strive to create an environment where people can truly worship God with their whole hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. We do this through heartfelt prayers, relevant sermons, powerful music, significant videos, modern technology, and a team of prayerful ministers who all work together to make our worship experience great for every person who comes through our doors. We believe that true worship comes from the heart and should not be merely a performance. Before each service, our worship team gathers together to pray for every person about to come and to commit our service to God for His glory. These groups all play a part in making our Sunday morning services a reality.
Music
Our music team is comprised of talented musicians who have a passion for music and a heart for worship. We have several people who rotate their services during the month and each offer their unique talents to lead the congregation in praise. We use a variety of music to celebrate God and to enhance the worship experience. We understand that our job is not to entertain but to encourage people to praise God together. The music team pays special attention each week to choose songs that will complement the sermon's focus. This is meant to help you meaningfully connect with God throughout our entire service. Sound
Our sermons and songs would not be very effective if the people sitting in their seats couldn't hear their messages! Although "behind the scenes", our sound team is a very important part of our Sunday mornings. This ministry helps set up equipment and produce high-quality sound for our worship teams, speakers, and special audio-video elements. If you are interested in assisting the sound team, please see Peter Peckskamp to set up a training session for our sound team.
Media
At Journey Community Church, we try our best to be a Biblically-centered AND culturally relevant church. Part of achieving that goal is utilizing modern worship technology. Our media team ensures that there are lyrics available for every song, words for scripture verses, video clips to enhance the sermon, and scrolling announcements before each service. If you enjoy working with computers and using this talent to serve the church, please talk to Robin Berg about being trained for our media team.
Visual Arts
We understand that we have the ability to worship God with more than just our mouths! There are many art forms that worship can take, including interpretive dance, dramatic presentations, graphic design, and photography for our media presentation. This is a ministry area we hope to develop and are looking for people who aren't afraid to try something new and help our church discover even more ways to connect with God.
